How to Use

Dosage

One spray into each nostril as needed.

Method

Remove the cap, hold the bottle upright, and prime the pump if it's new or hasn't been used for 7 days (spray 4 times away from your face). Blow your nose. Lean forward, insert the nozzle into one nostril, spray once, and gently breathe in through your nose. Repeat for the other nostril. After use, clean the nozzle and replace the cap. Only one person should use each bottle.

Important

Do not use more than 3 times a day in each nostril. Do not use for more than 10 consecutive days.

COMMON
  • Dry or irritated nasal lining
  • Nausea
  • Headache
  • Local burning sensation in the nose
RARE
  • Nosebleed
  • Allergic reactions (rash, itching)
  • Temporary blurred vision
  • Irregular or fast heartbeat
  • Sleep disturbances, dizziness, or tremors (in very sensitive patients)
  • Difficulty breathing or swallowing (severe allergic reaction, seek medical help immediately)
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat (severe allergic reaction, seek medical help immediately)
  • Severe skin itching and red rash or hives (severe allergic reaction, seek medical help immediately)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to xylometazoline or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have recently had nose or mouth surgery on your head.
  • Do not use if you have chronic dry inflammation of the nose (rhinitis sicca or atrophic rhinitis).
  • Do not use if you have narrow-angle glaucoma (high eye pressure).
  • Do not give Otrivin 1 mg/ml nasal spray to children under 12 years old.

  • Using this medicine too much or for more than 10 days can make your stuffy nose worse.
  • Do not use Otrivin in your eyes or mouth.
  • Do not exceed the recommended dose. This is especially important for elderly people and teenagers.
  • Do not use Otrivin during pregnancy due to its blood vessel narrowing effect.
  • This medicine contains benzalkonium chloride, which can cause irritation or swelling inside the nose, especially with long-term use.
