Otiborin ear drops use boric acid and ethanol to stop bacteria and fungi from growing in the ear and help dry out the ear canal.

How to Use

Dosage

Use 4 drops, 3 to 6 times a day.

Method

Warm the bottle to body temperature. Lie on your side with the affected ear facing up and put the drops directly into the ear canal. Stay in this position for about 5 minutes. It's best if someone helps you put in the drops.

Important

Continue using for 2-3 days after symptoms disappear, but do not use continuously for more than one week. Not for children under 7 years old.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Temporary stinging or burning in the ear when applying the medicine.
RARE
  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
  • Skin redness and rash.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to boric acid, ethanol, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Talk to your doctor before using if your eardrum in the affected ear is perforated, ruptured, has a permanent hole, or if you have grommets (ear tubes).
  • Contact your doctor if you have severe ear pain, a blocked ear or reduced hearing, redness around the ear, ear or jaw tenderness, blood or other discharge from the ear, or fever. These can be signs of a serious infection.
  • Consult a doctor if your condition does not improve within 2 days or worsens.
