This medicine contains melatonin, a natural hormone that helps regulate your body's sleep-wake cycle, used for short-term jet lag in adults and insomnia in children/adolescents with ADHD.
For adults with jet lag: 3 mg daily at bedtime for up to 4 days. If needed, you can take 5 mg on later days (not the same day as 3 mg). For children and adolescents (6-17) with ADHD-related insomnia: 3 mg or 5 mg, 30-60 minutes before bedtime, as directed by a doctor.
Take the tablet whole or crushed and mixed with cold water. Take it at bedtime, local time. Do not eat 2 hours before or after taking it.
The highest daily dose is 5 mg for jet lag, and treatment should not last more than 4 days. For ADHD-related insomnia, follow your doctor's instructions.
