How to Use

Dosage

For adults with jet lag, take one 3 mg tablet daily; if needed, a 5 mg tablet can be taken on subsequent days. For children with ADHD-related insomnia, your doctor will determine the dose, usually 3 mg or 5 mg.

Method

Take the tablet in the evening, around bedtime. You can crush the tablet and mix it with cold water. Do not eat 2 hours before or after taking it, and avoid alcohol.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 5 mg for adults, and treatment for jet lag should not exceed 4 days.

COMMON
  • Headache
  • Feeling sleepy or drowsy
RARE
  • Serious reactions: allergic reactions (like swelling of the face, mouth, tongue, or skin), fainting, severe chest pain.
  • Mood and mind changes: depression, anxiety, feeling restless or irritable, abnormal dreams, nightmares, confusion, memory problems, or hallucinations.
  • Physical discomfort: dizziness, nausea, stomach pain, acid reflux, dry mouth, skin rashes, itching, muscle or joint pain, hot flashes, tiredness, thirst, or weight gain.
  • Other symptoms: high or low blood pressure, changes in blood tests (like sugar, fats, or cells), blood in urine, problems with urination, prostate issues, or abnormal breast milk discharge.
  • Skin infections: shingles or psoriasis.

Important Warnings

  • Tell your doctor if you have diabetes, liver or kidney disease, an autoimmune disease, or epilepsy.
  • This medicine can make you sleepy; do not drive or use machines after taking it.
  • Smoking and alcohol can make this medicine less effective.
  • Do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding. Women who could get pregnant should use birth control during treatment.
