How to Use

Dosage

Apply a thin layer once a day.

Method

Wash and dry your nails thoroughly. Apply a thin layer of lacquer over the entire nail and 5 mm of surrounding skin, and if possible, under the free edge of the nail. Let it dry for 30 seconds. Do not wash your nails for at least 6 hours (preferably apply in the evening). The lacquer can be removed by washing with water; no solvents are needed. If the lacquer comes off accidentally, you can reapply it.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Redness at the application site.
  • Scaling at the application site.
  • Burning sensation at the application site.
  • Itching at the application site.
RARE
  • Rash or eczema.
  • Allergic rash, also outside the application area.
  • Temporary nail discoloration (note: nail fungus can also cause this).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Onytec if you are allergic to ciclopirox or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Not for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
  • Onytec is for external use only (on nails and surrounding skin).
  • Do not use regular nail polish or other cosmetic nail products on the treated nails.
  • Keep the bottle tightly closed between uses.

  • Consult a doctor if the fungus covers more than 75% of the nail surface, affects more than 5 nails, or has spread to the nail matrix (the root of the nail).
  • If you develop an allergic reaction to this medicine, stop treatment and contact a doctor.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have diabetes, immune system problems, peripheral vascular disease, nail pain or severe damage, psoriasis or other chronic skin disease, swelling or breathing difficulties.
  • If you have diabetes, be careful with nail care.
  • Avoid contact of the lacquer with eyes and mucous membranes (such as mouth or nose).
  • During pregnancy and breastfeeding, use only if prescribed by a doctor and if absolutely necessary.
  • This medicine is flammable. Keep away from heat and open flames.
  • Contains alcohol, which may cause a burning sensation on damaged skin areas.
  • Contains cetostearyl alcohol, which may cause local skin reactions (e.g., rash).
