Ondansetron Stada is a medicine used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting caused by cancer treatment (chemotherapy or radiation) or surgery.
For cancer treatment: On the treatment day, take 8 mg 1-2 hours before treatment, then another 8 mg 12 hours later. On following days (adults): 8 mg twice daily for up to 5 days. For children, your doctor will decide the dose, up to 8 mg daily for up to 5 days. For surgery (adults): 4-8 mg 1 hour before surgery.
Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water.
For adults, the maximum daily dose is usually 16 mg for cancer treatment. For children, the maximum daily dose is 8 mg.
Suitable for older adults, with specific cautions. May prolong the QT interval especially with other preparations prolonging QT. Take interactions into account. (updated 20.5.2024)
