How to Use

Dosage

One 20 mg/12.5 mg tablet once a day. Your doctor may increase the dose to one 20 mg/25 mg tablet if needed.

Method

Swallow the tablet with water, preferably at the same time each day, for example with breakfast.

Important

The maximum recommended dose is one 20 mg/25 mg tablet once daily.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache, dizziness, fatigue, weakness, chest pain
  • Swelling (in hands, feet, or ankles)
  • Stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea, cough
  • Runny or stuffy nose, sore throat
  • Back pain, muscle or joint pain
  • Urinary tract infections, flu-like symptoms, general pain
  • Confusion, constipation, bloating
RARE
  • Severe allergic reactions (swelling of face, mouth, or throat, hives) - seek immediate medical help
  • Very low blood pressure (fainting) - seek immediate medical help
  • Jaundice (yellow skin and eyes, dark urine, itching) - seek immediate medical help
  • Palpitations, irregular heartbeat
  • Sudden breathing difficulties or acute respiratory distress (shortness of breath, fever, weakness, confusion)
  • Vision loss or eye pain due to high eye pressure, blurred or yellow vision, dry eyes
  • Rash, skin redness, sun sensitivity, purpura (purple spots on skin), peeling or blistering skin, non-melanoma skin/lip cancer
  • Muscle cramps, muscle weakness, severe joint pain, erectile dysfunction, blood in urine
  • Loss of appetite, vomiting, constipation, pancreatitis (inflammation of pancreas), gallbladder inflammation, intestinal obstruction (paralytic ileus)
  • Kidney failure or worsening kidney function, fluid and electrolyte imbalances (e.g., low blood chloride), anemia, fever
  • Restlessness, depression, sleep problems, seizures, numbness or tingling, altered consciousness
  • Swollen and tender salivary glands, blood clots (thrombosis/embolism), vasculitis (blood vessel inflammation)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to olmesartan, hydrochlorothiazide, or similar medicines.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. This medicine is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
  • Tell your doctor if you have severe kidney, liver, or heart problems.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience sudden vision loss or eye pain.
  • Be careful in the sun, as this medicine may increase the risk of skin cancer. Protect your skin from sunlight.
