How to Use

Dosage

The recommended dose is one tablet once a day.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food. Do not chew it. Do not take with grapefruit or grapefruit juice. Try to take your daily dose at the same time each day, for example, with breakfast.

Important

Do not take more than one tablet per day.

RARE
  • Severe allergic reactions, including swelling of the face, mouth, or throat, and difficulty breathing
  • Fainting
  • Severe skin rashes, sometimes with blistering or peeling skin (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome)
  • Heart attack
  • Confusion
  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice) or other liver problems
  • Pancreas inflammation, causing severe stomach pain
  • Kidney problems or acute kidney failure
  • Changes in blood counts, such as easy bruising or increased risk of infection
  • Muscle pain, weakness, or increased muscle stiffness
  • Numbness or tingling in the hands or feet
  • Tremor or slow, stiff movements

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to this medicine or any of its ingredients.
  • Do not use if you are more than 3 months pregnant, as it can seriously harm your baby. Avoid during early pregnancy too.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver problems or yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice).
  • Do not use if you have very low blood pressure or are in shock (very low blood pressure with a fast heart rate).
  • Do not use if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking another blood pressure medicine called aliskiren.

  • If you get severe swelling of the face, mouth, or throat, stop taking the medicine and see a doctor right away.
  • If your eyes turn yellow, your urine becomes dark, or your skin itches, contact your doctor right away.
  • If you get severe, long-lasting diarrhea with major weight loss, or stomach pain, nausea, or vomiting, tell your doctor.
