How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is one 10 mg tablet once a day. Your doctor may increase the dose to 20 mg or 40 mg if needed. For children weighing less than 35 kg, the maximum dose is 20 mg per day.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food. Try to take your medicine at the same time each day, for example, with breakfast.

Important

Generally, a maximum of 40 mg per day. For children (under 35 kg) or with kidney disease, the maximum dose is 20 mg per day.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to olmesartan medoxomil, any other ingredients, or if you have lactose intolerance.
  • Do not use if you are more than 3 months pregnant or planning to become pregnant, as it can seriously harm your baby.
  • Tell your doctor if you have severe kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease, or heart valve problems.
  • Also tell your doctor if you have severe vomiting or diarrhea, are taking water pills (diuretics), or are on a low-salt diet.
  • Stop taking the medicine immediately and contact your doctor if you experience swelling of the face, mouth, or throat (a sign of an allergic reaction).

  • If you feel excessively dizzy or faint, stop the medicine, lie down, and contact your doctor immediately.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery if the medicine makes you drowsy or dizzy.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose in moderately severe renal impairment. Monitor renal function and potassium concentrations during the pharmacotherapy. Avoid concurrent use of NSAIDs. (updated 14.4.2025)
