Oftaquix

Oftaquix eye drops contain levofloxacin, an antibiotic that kills bacteria and treats bacterial infections of the eye's surface, such as conjunctivitis, in children aged 1 year and older and adults.

How to Use

Dosage

Apply 1-2 drops to the infected eye(s).

Method

Apply Oftaquix eye drops to the outer surface of the eye. Tilt your head back, pull your lower eyelid down, and drop one drop into the pocket formed. Close your eye briefly and press the inner corner for about one minute.

Important

On days 1-2, up to 8 times daily. On days 3-5, up to 4 times daily.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Stinging in the eye
  • Decreased vision or discharge in the eye
RARE
  • Stinging or irritation in the eye
  • Painful eyes
  • Dry or sore eyes
  • Swelling or redness of eyelids or eye surface (bloodshot eyes)
  • Sensitivity to light
  • Itchy eyes
  • Sticky eyelids
  • Headache
  • Rash around the eye
  • Blocked or runny nose

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Oftaquix eye drops if you are allergic to levofloxacin, other quinolones, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • If you experience an allergic reaction, stop using the medicine immediately.
  • If your eye symptoms worsen during treatment, contact a doctor immediately.
  • If your symptoms do not improve within the time agreed with your doctor, contact a doctor.
  • Do not wear contact lenses if your eye is inflamed.

  • If you experience tendon pain or swelling (tendinitis), stop using Oftaquix and tell your doctor.
  • If you use other eye drops, wait at least 15 minutes between using Oftaquix and the other eye drops.
