How to Use

Dosage

One drop in your eye. If you need a stronger effect, put a second drop in after 5–25 minutes.

Method

Wash your hands. Tilt your head back, pull down your lower eyelid, and put one drop into your eye. Close your eye and gently press the inner corner of your eye for about one minute. Do not touch the tip of the bottle. If you use more than one type of drop in the same eye, wait at least 5 minutes between drops.

Important

Up to 2 drops per eye per treatment session, with the second drop 5–25 minutes after the first.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Stinging in the eyes.
  • Trouble seeing things up close.
  • Eyes feel bothered by light (light sensitivity).
  • Dry mouth.
  • Redness in the face.
  • Headache.
RARE
  • Feeling confused.
  • Feeling restless.
  • Seeing or hearing things that aren't there (hallucinations).
  • Feeling sleepy.
  • Fast heart rate.
  • Constipation.
  • Trouble peeing.
  • Allergic reactions.
  • If used for a long time: red eyes, conjunctivitis (eye surface inflammation), and swollen eyelids.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to tropicamide or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have narrow-angle glaucoma (a type of eye disease with high pressure).
  • This medicine can increase eye pressure if you have a narrow chamber angle in your eye.
  • Be extra careful when giving this to children, as they are more sensitive to side effects than adults.
  • Avoid alcohol and certain allergy, heart, and mental health medicines, as this medicine can make their effects stronger.

  • Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
  • This medicine can make you sleepy, sensitive to light, and give you blurry vision, which can make driving or operating machines unsafe.
  • Remove contact lenses before putting in the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in.
  • It may irritate your eyes, especially if you have dry eyes or problems with the front of your eye. If you feel discomfort, stinging, or pain in your eye after use, talk to your doctor.
