How to Use

Dosage

One drop in one or both eyes 1-4 times a day; for pupil dilation, 1-2 drops in the eye.

Method

Wash hands, tilt your head back, pull down your lower eyelid, and drop in one drop. Close your eye and press the inner corner for about one minute to prevent medicine draining.

Important

Maximum 4 drops per day for general use; for pupil dilation, the dose can be repeated if needed after about one hour.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to phenylephrine or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have narrow-angle glaucoma.
  • Be especially careful if you are elderly, as older people are more sensitive to the medicine's side effects.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have high blood pressure, severe heart problems, diabetes, atherosclerosis, or an overactive thyroid.
  • Tell your doctor about other medicines you are taking, as Oftan Metaoksedrin can react especially with some antidepressants or MAO inhibitors.

  • The medicine may cause temporary light sensitivity and blurred vision, which can affect your ability to drive or operate machinery.
  • Remove contact lenses before using the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.
  • Benzalkonium chloride may irritate eyes, especially if you have dry eyes or corneal conditions; consult your doctor if you experience discomfort.
  • Not recommended for children.
