How to Use

Dosage

Adults and children: 1-2 drops in the eye.

Method

Your doctor will put 1-2 drops in your eye. The eye surface will be numb in about a minute.

This medicine is given by a doctor for specific tests. Your doctor will decide how much you need.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Eye irritation
  • Feeling of something in the eye after the numbing wears off
  • Minor damage to the cornea (punctate keratitis) with repeated use
RARE
  • Swelling of the eye (cornea)
  • Discoloration of the eye (cornea)
  • Inflammation of the iris (the colored part of the eye)
  • Slow heart rate
  • Low blood pressure
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea

Important Warnings

  • Remove contact lenses before using these eye drops. You can put them back in one hour after the drops have been given.
  • Do not rub your eye while it is numb.
  • Tell your doctor right away if you notice signs of a severe allergic reaction (like swelling, rash, or trouble breathing).
  • These eye drops can make your vision blurry for a short time. Do not drive or use machines until your vision is clear again.
