How to Use

Dosage

Start with one drop 6-8 times a day. As your symptoms get better, slowly reduce the dose.

Method

Wash your hands. Tilt your head back, pull down your lower eyelid, look up, and squeeze one drop into your eye. Close your eye and gently press the inner corner for about one minute. Close the bottle tightly. If you use other eye medicines, wait at least 5 minutes between each. Apply eye ointment last.

Up to 8 drops per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Allergic reactions.
  • Temporary eye irritation, such as itching, burning, stinging, or red eyes.
  • Superinfections (a new infection).
RARE
  • Nerve disorders (e.g., peripheral neuropathy).
  • Inflammation of the optic nerve.
  • Bone marrow problems (can be reversible or severe aplastic anemia).
  • Allergic eye inflammation (conjunctivitis).
  • Severe allergic reactions (anaphylactic reactions) that can be life-threatening.
  • Sudden swelling in the skin, mucous membranes, or internal organs (angioedema).
  • Hives; blistering, bumpy, and spotty skin inflammation.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to chloramphenicol or any other ingredient in this medicine. Do not use if you or a family member has had a blood disorder, like aplastic anemia.
  • Do not use with other medicines that can harm your bone marrow.
  • Remove contact lenses before applying drops and wait 15 minutes before putting them back in. Do not wear contact lenses if you have an eye infection.
  • Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • These drops can blur your vision for a short time. Do not drive or use machines until your vision is clear.

  • If you have dry eyes or cornea problems, the drops might cause irritation. Tell your doctor if you feel irritation, stinging, or pain in your eye after using the drops.
