Ocutifex eye drops contain an antihistamine called ketotifen and are used to treat eye symptoms caused by seasonal allergies.

How to Use

Dosage

Apply one drop to the affected eye(s) twice a day, in the morning and evening.

Method

Wash your hands, tilt your head back, pull down your lower eyelid, drop one drop into the eye, close your eye, and gently press the inner corner for 1-2 minutes.

Important

The maximum daily dose is one drop per eye, twice a day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Eye irritation or pain
  • Eye inflammation
  • Damage to the surface of the eye (cornea)
RARE
  • Blurred vision when applying eye drops
  • Dry eyes
  • Eyelid disorder
  • Conjunctivitis (inflammation of the clear membrane lining the eyelid and eye surface)
  • Increased light sensitivity of the eyes
  • Visible bleeding in the white part of the eye
  • Headache
  • Drowsiness
  • Skin rash (which may also be itchy)
  • Eczema (itchy, red, burning rash)
  • Dry mouth
  • Allergic reaction (including swelling of face and eyelids) and worsening of existing allergic conditions like asthma or eczema

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Ocutifex eye drops if you are allergic to ketotifen or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Ocutifex eye drops.
  • Ocutifex is not recommended for children under 3 years of age.
  • If you use other eye medicines at the same time as Ocutifex, wait at least 5 minutes between applying them.
  • Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all other medicines you are taking, especially those for depression, anxiety, sleep problems, or allergies (e.g., antihistamines).

  • Ocutifex eye drops may increase the effects of alcohol.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
  • Ocutifex may cause blurred vision or drowsiness. If this happens, wait until your vision is clear and you feel alert before driving or operating machinery.
