How to Use

Dosage

Usually take 1 capsule once a day. For severe iron deficiency, adults and those over 15 years and weighing over 50 kg may take 1 capsule 2-3 times a day.

Method

Swallow capsules whole with plenty of water. For best effect, take on an empty stomach about 1 hour before a meal or 2 hours after. If it upsets your stomach, take with food, but avoid vegetables, dairy, coffee, and tea. If swallowing is difficult, you can open the capsule and mix the contents with water in a spoon, then swallow without chewing.

Important

Do not take more than 3 capsules (300 mg iron) in a single day.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to iron glycine sulfate or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have a narrowed esophagus.
  • Do not use if you have a condition with high iron levels in your blood (e.g., hemochromatosis) or problems with how your body uses iron (e.g., sideroblastic anemia).
  • Do not use if you are receiving repeated blood transfusions.
  • Do not give to children under 6 years old or children 6 years and older weighing less than 20 kg.

  • Tell your doctor if you have stomach or bowel diseases (e.g., inflammatory bowel disease, ulcers, gastritis).
  • Tell your doctor if the cause of your anemia or iron deficiency is not known, as it could be a sign of a more serious condition.
  • Tell your doctor if you have chronic kidney disease, liver disease, or if you consume a lot of alcohol.
  • Tell your doctor about all other medicines you are taking, as iron can affect how they work or cause irritation if taken together (e.g., certain antibiotics, thyroid hormones, antacids, NSAIDs, calcium supplements).
