  • Do not give this medicine if your child's body cannot use the protein building blocks.
  • Avoid use if your child has high levels of any electrolyte contained in Numeta G16E in their blood.
  • If your child is a newborn (under 28 days old), Numeta G16E (or other calcium-containing solutions) must not be given at the same time as ceftriaxone (an antibiotic), even through separate infusion lines, as this can cause life-threatening particles in the bloodstream.

  • Protect the product from light when administering to newborns and children under 2 years old to prevent the formation of harmful substances.
  • Stop the infusion immediately if allergic reactions occur, such as fever, sweating, headache, rash, or difficulty breathing.
  • Tell the doctor or nurse immediately if your child has difficulty breathing, as it could be a sign of small particles in the blood vessels of the lungs.
  • Your doctor will monitor your child for signs of infection; following aseptic technique helps reduce the risk.
  • Inform your doctor about all other medications your child is taking, especially diuretics, ACE inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor antagonists, or immunosuppressants, as they can affect potassium levels.
  • Products such as blood, ampicillin, fosphenytoin, or furosemide must not be given through the same infusion line, as this can cause particles or clumping of blood cells.
