How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is 2 ml.

Method

It is given as an injection deep into a muscle or into a vein.

Important

You can have up to 4 ml per day, given as 2 ml doses 12 hours apart if needed.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Severe allergic reaction
  • Feeling confused
  • Seeing or hearing things that are not real (hallucinations)
  • Feeling nervous
  • Dizziness
  • Shaking (tremor)
  • Blurred vision
  • Fast heartbeat
  • Feeling sick (nausea)
  • Constipation
  • Dry mouth
  • Difficulty urinating

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to orphenadrine citrate or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have severe problems with your digestive system, such as blockages or ulcers in your food pipe, stomach, or intestines.
  • Do not use if you have an enlarged prostate, high pressure in your eyes (glaucoma), a muscle weakness called myasthenia gravis, or if you cannot urinate.
  • Do not drink alcohol while using this medicine, as it can make the effects of alcohol stronger.
  • This medicine is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • This medicine can make it harder to drive or use machines. Be careful.
  • This medicine is not for children or teenagers under 18 years old.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category D

Avoid use in older adults. Anticholinergic. Significant adverse effects include confusion, cognitive impairment, xerostomia, tachycardia, constipation and difficulties to urinate.. Reduces the effectiveness of drugs for Alzheimer’s disease. (updated 16.9.2024)
