How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is 0.4 to 0.8 mg of noradrenaline per hour. Your doctor will decide the right dose for you and adjust it as needed.

Method

A doctor or nurse will give Noradrenalin Kalceks to you in the hospital. It is diluted and given into a vein as an infusion.

Important

Your doctor will constantly monitor your blood pressure and overall condition to determine your maximum safe daily dose.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Anxiety, sleeplessness, confusion, weakness
  • Headache, shaking
  • Changes in heart rate or rhythm, ECG changes
  • High blood pressure, reduced oxygen to organs
  • Poor blood flow to hands and feet (coldness, paleness, pain)
  • Breathing problems
  • Paleness, skin redness, rash, itching, hives
  • Nausea, vomiting
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Irritation or sores at the injection site
RARE
  • Severe allergic reaction (sudden itchy rash, swelling of face or throat, feeling dizzy)
  • Severe pain or swelling at the injection site (may mean tissue damage)
  • Life-threatening heart failure (cardiogenic shock)
  • Tissue death (gangrene)
  • Symptoms of overdose: very high blood pressure, sensitivity to light, pain behind the breastbone or in the throat, severe sweating, vomiting

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to noradrenaline or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have low blood pressure due to very low blood volume.
  • Tell your doctor if you are receiving certain anesthetics like halothane or cyclopropane, as this medicine can increase the risk of heart rhythm problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you have heart problems like a recent heart attack, heart rhythm issues (fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat), or severe left ventricular failure.
  • Discuss with your doctor if you have diabetes, liver problems, severe kidney disease, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, low oxygen or high carbon dioxide in your blood, increased pressure in your head, blood clots in major blood vessels, or a type of chest pain called Prinzmetal's angina.

  • This medicine is not recommended for children under 18 years old.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a baby, tell your doctor. Noradrenalin can harm the unborn baby, and your doctor will decide if this medicine is right for you.
