How to Use

Dosage

The typical dose is between 0.4 and 0.8 mg per hour, but your doctor will decide the right amount for you.

Method

A doctor or nurse will give this medicine to you in a hospital. It is mixed with fluid and given into a vein as an infusion.

Important

Your doctor will continuously adjust the dose based on your medical condition and how you respond to the treatment, ensuring you receive the correct amount.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Sudden itchy rash (hives), swelling of your hands, feet, ankles, face, lips, mouth or throat (which may cause difficulty swallowing or breathing), feeling like you are about to faint.
  • Pain and/or swelling at the injection site.
  • Anxiety, sleeplessness, confusion, weakness, sudden severe mental disorder, headache, tremors, increased pressure in the eye (acute glaucoma).
  • Decreased or increased heart rate, abnormal heart rhythm, changes in heart's electrical activity (ECG), life-threatening circulatory failure (cardiogenic shock), severe weakening of heart muscle due to intense stress, palpitations, increased heart muscle contraction, acute heart failure, very high blood pressure, reduced oxygen supply to some organs.
  • Poor blood flow to hands and feet (can cause cold, pale skin and/or pain in limbs), local tissue destruction (gangrene), reduced blood plasma volume, irritation and cell damage leading to tissue death at the injection site.
  • Breathing difficulties, nausea, vomiting, pallor, skin scarring, bluish skin, hot flashes or skin redness, rash, hives or itching, inability to empty the bladder.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to noradrenaline or any other ingredient in it.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have very low blood pressure caused by too little blood volume.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are receiving certain anesthetic gases (like halothane or cyclopropane), as this can increase the risk of irregular heartbeats.
  • Tell your doctor if you have diabetes, liver or kidney problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had a recent heart attack, have irregular heartbeats, or have a serious heart condition.
