How to Use

Dosage

For coronary artery disease: 1-4 capsules, 1-2 times a day. For heart failure: 2-4 capsules, 1-2 times a day. Your doctor might prescribe a different dose.

Method

Swallow the capsule whole, do not chew. If needed, you can open the capsule and swallow its contents with food or drink. If taking twice a day, take the first dose in the morning and the second dose 6 hours later.

Important

Up to 8 capsules per day, unless your doctor has given different instructions.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to isosorbide dinitrate, other nitrates, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have very low blood pressure.
  • Do not take if you have certain severe heart conditions like severe heart valve problems, cardiac tamponade, or cardiogenic shock.
  • Do not take if you have acute circulation problems or severe untreated anemia.
  • Do not take if you have high pressure inside your head.

  • Do not take if you are using medicines for erectile dysfunction (like sildenafil, vardenafil, or tadalafil) as this can be life-threatening.
  • Do not take if you are using riociguat (a medicine for pulmonary hypertension).
  • Talk to your doctor before taking if you have recently had a heart attack or have lung problems causing low oxygen.
  • This medicine can make the effects of other blood pressure lowering medicines stronger.
  • Avoid alcohol as it can further lower your blood pressure.
  • Do not give this medicine to children as its safety and effectiveness have not been proven for them.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.
  • This medicine may make you feel dizzy or sleepy, affecting your ability to drive or operate machinery.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. Consider reduced blood pressure and the risk of fainting due to orthostatic hypotonia. Need for long-acting product should be assessed regularly. (updated 19.5.2025)
