Nitrosid tablets are used to treat coronary artery disease and heart failure; they widen blood vessels and ease the heart's workload.
Your doctor will determine your dose individually. For angina pectoris attacks, typically 2.5–10 mg. For prevention, 5–10 mg, which can be increased to 20–40 mg 3–4 times daily. For heart failure, 100–160 mg daily, divided into 2–3 doses.
For angina pectoris attacks, chew the tablets and let them dissolve in your mouth, preferably while sitting or lying down. For prevention and heart failure, swallow the tablets whole.
The maximum daily dose can be up to 160 mg, as directed by your doctor.
Suitable for older adults. Consider reduced blood pressure and the risk of fainting due to orthostatic hypotonia. Need for long-acting product should be assessed regularly. (updated 19.5.2025)
