Nitrazepam Accord is a benzodiazepine medicine used for short-term treatment of severe insomnia, helping you fall asleep faster and sleep longer.
The usual starting dose is 5 mg (one tablet). If you are elderly, frail, or have lung, liver, or kidney disease, the starting dose is typically 2.5 mg (half a tablet).
Swallow the tablet whole with water or another non-alcoholic drink. Take the medicine just before going to bed. Ensure you can sleep undisturbed for 7-8 hours after taking the tablets.
Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor. Treatment usually lasts no longer than four weeks.
