Nintedanib Sandoz helps to slow down the scarring and stiffening of the lungs in certain lung diseases, such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and other chronic fibrosing interstitial lung diseases.

How to Use

Dosage

One 100 mg capsule twice a day.

Method

Take the capsules whole with water, with food (or just before/after a meal), about 12 hours apart (e.g., morning and evening). Do not chew or open the capsules.

Important

Maximum of two 100 mg capsules (200 mg) per day.

  • Increased protein in urine
  • Kidney failure
  • Brain disorder symptoms (like headache, vision changes, confusion, seizures, or weakness in an arm/leg)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to nintedanib or any of its ingredients, or if you are pregnant.
  • Tell your doctor if you have or have had liver or kidney problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you have bleeding problems or are taking blood thinning medicines.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking pirfenidone, as this may increase the risk of diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and liver problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you have or have had heart problems (e.g., heart attack) or have recently had surgery, as this medicine may affect wound healing.

  • Tell your doctor if you have high blood pressure, especially in your lungs, or if you have a bulging or torn blood vessel (aneurysm).
  • Contact your doctor right away if you get severe diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting while taking this medicine.
  • Contact your doctor right away if you notice yellow skin or eyes, dark urine, pain in the upper right stomach, easy bleeding or bruising, or feel very tired, as these can be signs of serious liver problems.
  • Contact your doctor right away if you experience severe stomach pain, fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, or a hard or swollen stomach, as these could be signs of a hole in the bowel wall.
  • Contact your doctor right away if you have severe stomach pain, cramps, and bloody diarrhea, as these could be signs of bowel inflammation due to insufficient blood flow.
  • Contact your doctor right away if you have pain, swelling, redness, or warmth in an arm or leg, as these could be signs of a blood clot.
  • Contact your doctor right away if you have chest pain, especially on the left side, pain in your neck, jaw, shoulder or arm, fast heartbeat, shortness of breath, nausea, or vomiting, as these can be signs of a heart attack.
  • Contact your doctor right away if you have significant bleeding, or unexplained bruising, bleeding, fever, tiredness, and confusion, as these can be signs of blood vessel damage (Thrombotic Microangiopathy - TMA).
  • Contact your doctor right away if you have a headache, vision changes, confusion, seizures, or weakness in an arm or leg, with or without high blood pressure, as these can be signs of a brain disorder (Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome - PRES).
