How to Use

Dosage

Usually, adults start with one 30 mg tablet once a day. Your doctor might change the dose. Elderly patients and those with liver problems may start with a lower dose.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with enough liquid. Do not chew, crush, or break the tablet. Avoid grapefruit juice.

Important

Your doctor will decide your maximum daily dose based on your needs.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to nifedipine or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have very low blood pressure.
  • Do not use if you are taking rifampicin (a medicine for tuberculosis).
  • Do not use if you have had a heart attack or stroke recently (within the last month).
  • Do not use if you have severe heart failure or unstable chest pain.

  • Do not use if you have a specific bowel condition called 'Kock's pouch' or other intestinal obstructions.
  • Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice as they can increase the medicine's effect.
  • This medicine may affect your ability to drive or use machines, especially when starting treatment or if you drink alcohol.
  • Tell your doctor if you have liver problems, narrowing of the aorta, or are on dialysis with high blood pressure.
