How to Use

Dosage

Chew one piece of gum when you feel a strong urge to smoke, usually every 1-2 hours. A typical dose is 8-12 pieces of gum per day.

Method

Do not swallow the gum. Chew slowly until you feel a strong taste. Rest the gum between your cheek and gum. When the taste fades, chew again. Repeat this for about 30 minutes.

Important

Maximum 24 pieces of 2 mg gum or 15 pieces of 4 mg gum per day. Do not use more than one piece of gum per hour.

  • Swelling of the face, tongue, or throat; severe difficulty swallowing; hives or breathing difficulties (signs of a severe allergic reaction)
  • Shortness of breath

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to nicotine or any other ingredient in this medicine, or if you do not smoke.
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have heart problems, such as a recent heart attack, irregular heartbeat, heart failure, or chest pain.
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have had a stroke.
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have high blood pressure.
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have diabetes; monitor your blood sugar more often.

  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have an overactive thyroid, adrenal gland tumor, kidney/liver problems, inflammation of the esophagus/mouth/throat, stomach inflammation/ulcer, or a history of epilepsy.
  • If you have jaw joint problems or dentures, you might have difficulty chewing. Chewing gum can loosen fillings or dental implants.
  • Do not smoke while using Nicotinell Tropical fruit, as this can lead to high nicotine levels and make you feel unwell.
  • Keep out of reach and sight of children. Doses suitable for adults can cause severe poisoning or even death in small children. Not for children under 12.
  • Avoid coffee, acidic drinks, and soft drinks 15 minutes before chewing as they can reduce nicotine absorption. Do not eat or drink while chewing the gum.
