How to Use

Dosage

Chew 8 to 12 gums daily.

Method

Chew slowly until you feel a strong taste or tingling, then rest the gum between your cheek and gum. Chew again slowly when the taste fades. Continue this for about 30 minutes.

Important

Do not chew more than 24 gums in one day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache
  • Cough, hiccups, throat irritation
  • Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, indigestion, flatulence, diarrhea
  • Tingling, taste changes, dry mouth, increased saliva, burning sensation in mouth
  • Fatigue
  • Irritability, anxiety, restlessness, difficulty concentrating, trouble sleeping, increased appetite, low mood, strong nicotine craving
  • Slowed heart rate, bleeding gums, mouth ulcers
  • Dizziness, weakness
  • Stuffy or runny nose, sore throat, constipation
RARE
  • Severe allergic reactions like swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, hives, or trouble breathing.
  • Unusual dreams
  • Fast, irregular heartbeat, or high blood pressure
  • Flushing (redness), wheezing, or feeling of tightness in the throat or chest
  • Nasal issues like sneezing or feeling unwell
  • Hoarseness, tingling or pain in the mouth or tongue, mouth ulcers, or bleeding gums
  • Increased sweating, skin rash, or itching
  • Jaw muscle pain, blurred vision, increased tears, dry throat
  • Lip pain, skin redness, muscle stiffness, or seizures

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Nicorette gum if you are allergic to nicotine or any other ingredient, are under 12 years old, or do not smoke.
  • Talk to your doctor before using if you have recently had a heart attack or stroke, suffer from chest pain, have severe liver or kidney disease, diabetes, or have experienced a severe allergic reaction (swelling of face/throat or hives).
  • Be aware the gum might stick to dentures.
