How to Use

Dosage

Typically 1 tablet (5 mg) once daily, preferably at the same time each day. For elderly patients and those with kidney problems, the starting dose is usually 2.5 mg daily.

Method

Take the tablet with water, with or without food.

Important

The maximum recommended dose is 10 mg per day.

  • Rash and itching
  • Impotence
  • Fainting
  • Worsening of psoriasis
  • Whole-body allergic reactions, with generalized skin reactions
  • Sudden swelling of face, lips, tongue or throat, possibly with acute breathing difficulties (angioedema)
  • Hives (urticaria)
  • Worsening heart failure
  • Intolerance to the medicine
  • Mild heart conduction disorder affecting the heart rhythm (first-degree AV block)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to nebivolol or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver problems.
  • Do not use if you have recent or worsening heart failure or cardiogenic shock.
  • Do not use if you have severe heart rhythm disorders (e.g., second or third-degree AV block).
  • Do not use if you have asthma or wheezing.

  • Do not use if you have an untreated adrenal gland tumor (pheochromocytoma).
  • Do not use if you have a metabolic disorder (e.g., diabetic ketoacidosis).
  • Do not use if you have a very slow heart rate (less than 60 beats per minute).
  • Do not use if you have low blood pressure.
  • Do not use if you have severe circulation problems in your hands or feet.
  • If you have severe kidney problems, discuss with your doctor before using for heart failure treatment.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly, as it can worsen heart failure.
  • Not recommended for children or adolescents due to lack of information.
  • Should not be used during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary, and is not recommended during breastfeeding.
  • This medicine may cause dizziness or tiredness; if these occur, do not drive or operate machinery.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose in severe renal impairment. Significant adverse effects include bradycardia, orthostatic hypotension and bronchial contraction..
