How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you how many capsules to take, their strength, how often, and for how long.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with water. Do not chew or suck them. It's best to take them with food to reduce nausea. Do not take with hot drinks. If you vomit within a few hours of taking the capsule, do not take another dose.

Important

Do not take more than 160 mg per week.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Infections in different parts of the body
  • Stomach issues, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting
  • Inflammation in the mouth
  • Low red blood cells, causing pale skin, weakness, or shortness of breath
  • Low platelets, increasing risk of bleeding or bruising
  • Low white blood cells, increasing risk of infections
  • Loss of some reflexes, changes in touch sensation
  • Hair loss, usually mild
  • Tiredness
  • Fever
  • Feeling weak
  • Weight loss, loss of appetite
  • Difficulties with muscle coordination
  • Vision changes
  • Shortness of breath, cough
  • Difficulties with urination, other genital and urinary symptoms
  • Sleep problems
  • Headache, dizziness, changes in taste
  • Inflammation of the esophagus, difficulty swallowing food or liquids
  • Skin reactions
  • Chills
  • Weight gain
  • Joint pain, jaw pain, muscle pain
  • Pain in different parts of the body and at the tumor site
  • High blood pressure
  • Liver problems (abnormal liver test results)
RARE
  • Heart failure, which can cause shortness of breath or swollen ankles, irregular heartbeat
  • Problems with body movements, like unusual walking, speech changes, or abnormal eye movements (ataxia)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to vinorelbine or similar cancer medicines, or any other ingredient.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Women who can get pregnant must use effective birth control during and for 7 months after treatment. Men should use effective birth control during and for 4 months after treatment.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a severe stomach or bowel problem that affects how food is absorbed, or if you had part of your stomach or small intestine removed.
  • Tell your doctor if you have low white blood cells or platelets, or if you've had a severe infection recently (in the last 2 weeks). Your blood will be checked often during treatment.
  • Tell your doctor if you plan to get a vaccine, especially a live vaccine (like yellow fever, measles, mumps, rubella), as these are not recommended during treatment.

  • Tell your doctor if you have had severe chest pain or heart problems caused by poor blood flow, like angina or a heart attack. Seek immediate medical help if you feel new or worse chest pain.
  • If a capsule breaks, do not swallow it. The liquid inside is harmful to your skin, eyes, and mouth. If it touches your skin or eyes, rinse well with water and contact your doctor.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you experience severe headaches, confusion, seizures, blurred vision, high blood pressure, feeling very sick, cough, fever, chills, severe constipation, stomach pain, dizziness or fainting when standing up, or any signs of a severe allergic reaction (like trouble breathing, swelling of face/lips, whole body rash).
