Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Swelling or pain in the vein where the shot was given (called thrombophlebitis).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to salt (sodium chloride) or any other part of this medicine.
  • The risks depend on the medicine this solution is mixed with. Always read the patient leaflet for that other medicine.
  • Newborn babies' kidneys are still growing, so they might get too much salt in their blood. Doctors and nurses will check their salt levels before giving this medicine.
  • If this medicine is given right under the skin, no other substances should be added to it.
