Dosage

Method

Important
For adults, the usual maximum dose is 40 ml per kg of body weight per day, and the maximum infusion rate is 5 ml per kg per hour.

RARE
- •Allergic reactions, including a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis).
- •Pain and swelling at the infusion site.
Important Warnings
- Do not use if you have too much fluid in your body tissues (hyperhydration or swelling).
- Do not use if you have very high salt levels in your body fluids (due to dehydration).
- Do not use if your blood is too acidic (lactic acidosis).
- Do not use if you have very high blood sugar that needs high insulin doses.
- Do not use if you have fluid in your lungs or brain.
