How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will determine the dose based on your age, weight, and health condition.

Method

This medicine is given as a drip directly into a vein.

Important

For adults, the maximum dose is 40 ml per kg per day, with an infusion rate of no more than 5 ml per kg per hour.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to sodium chloride, glucose, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have too much fluid in your body (hyperhydration).
  • Do not use if you are dehydrated due to low sodium levels.
  • Do not use if you have a head injury (within the first 24 hours).
  • Do not use if you have unusually high blood sugar requiring more than 6 units of insulin per hour.

  • This medicine should not be used to treat dehydration without enough salts, as it can significantly lower your body's salt levels and cause heart or brain problems.
  • Be especially careful if your blood sodium or potassium levels are too low. Ensure you get enough salts and Vitamin B1.
  • For diabetic patients, the glucose amount given must be considered, and insulin doses may need adjustment.
  • Generally, this medicine should not be given to patients who have had a stroke, unless your doctor deems it essential for recovery.
  • Blood sugar, electrolyte (especially potassium), acid-base balance, and fluid balance will be closely monitored before and during administration.
