Naso-ratiopharm is a nasal spray that uses xylometazoline to help clear a stuffy nose by reducing swelling in your nose and throat.

How to Use

Dosage

For adults and children over 10 years: 1 spray into each nostril, up to 3 times a day, as needed.

Method

Remove the cap. Gently blow your nose. Insert the nozzle into one nostril and spray once while breathing in. Repeat for the other nostril. Clean the nozzle after each use.

Important

Do not take another dose for at least 6 hours. Do not use this medicine for more than 7 days in a row.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Burning and dryness in the nose lining
RARE
  • Allergic reactions like swelling, rash, or itching.
  • Irritation in the nose, mouth, and throat; nosebleeds.
  • Palpitations (feeling your heart beat fast), rapid heart rate, or high blood pressure.
  • Irregular heartbeat, seeing things that are not there (hallucinations, mostly in children), seizures (especially in children), or temporary blurry vision.
  • Feeling nervous, having trouble sleeping, feeling tired (drowsy or less aware), headache, dizziness, or nausea.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to xylometazoline or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have had certain brain surgeries or have chronic very dry nasal passages (rhinitis sicca).
  • Do not use if you have narrow-angle glaucoma (a type of eye disease).
  • Do not use if you are taking or have recently taken (within the last 14 days) MAO inhibitors (medicines for depression).
  • Talk to your doctor before using if you have high blood pressure, heart disease, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, an enlarged prostate, or a specific adrenal gland tumor.

  • This medicine should not get into your eyes or mouth.
  • Using too much or for too long can make your nose feel even more blocked.
  • The 1 mg/ml spray is not for children under 10 years of age.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using this medicine.
