How to Use

Dosage

The recommended dose is one tablet (2.5 mg).

Method

Swallow whole with water. Take only when a migraine headache has already started.

Important

Do not take more than two tablets in 24 hours.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Nausea or vomiting (this can also be a migraine symptom)
  • Feeling tired, sleepy, or generally unwell
  • Dizziness, tingling sensations, or hot flushes
RARE
  • Feeling of heaviness, pressure, tightness, or pain in the chest, throat, or other body parts. If these symptoms are severe or persist, especially chest pain, seek immediate medical help.
  • Vision problems (these can also be a part of the migraine attack itself)
  • Changes in heart rhythm, such as unusually fast or slow heartbeat
  • A slight increase in blood pressure that can last up to 12 hours after taking the medicine
  • Drowsiness
  • Pain in the lower left abdomen and bloody diarrhea (a serious bowel condition)
  • Poor blood circulation in arms and legs, causing pain and discomfort
  • Serious heart problems, including chest pain (angina) and heart attack

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to naratriptan or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have heart problems, such as narrowed blood vessels (ischemic heart disease), chest pain (angina), or if you have had a heart attack.
  • Do not take if you have blood circulation problems in your legs that cause cramp-like pain when walking (peripheral vascular disease).
  • Do not take if you have had a stroke or a mini-stroke (TIA).
  • Do not take if you have uncontrolled high blood pressure.

  • Do not take if you have severe kidney or liver disease.
  • Do not take with other migraine medicines, such as other triptans or ergotamine-containing medicines.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have risk factors for heart disease (e.g., heavy smoking, over 40 male, post-menopausal female).
  • Talk to your doctor if you are allergic to sulfonamide antibiotics, as you might also be allergic to this medicine.
  • Talk to your doctor if using Naratriptan Orifarm too often makes your headaches worse.
  • Talk to your doctor if you are taking antidepressants (SSRIs or SNRIs) or herbal remedies containing St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum), as this can increase the risk of side effects.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to get pregnant, ask your doctor for advice. Do not breastfeed for 24 hours after taking the medicine and discard any breast milk.
  • This medicine can make you feel sleepy. Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel drowsy.
  • This medicine contains lactose. If you have trouble digesting certain sugars, talk to your doctor.
