How to Use

Dosage

For adults after a kidney transplant, you typically take 2 grams (4 tablets) daily, divided into two doses (2 tablets in the morning and 2 in the evening). Doses may differ for other organ transplants.

Method

Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. Do not split or crush them.

Important

The highest daily dose for adults is 3 grams (6 tablets).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to mycophenolate mofetil, mycophenolic acid, or any other ingredients in the tablets.
  • If you are a woman who can become pregnant, you must have a negative pregnancy test before starting treatment because this medicine can cause severe problems for the baby and lead to miscarriage.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are not using effective birth control.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are breastfeeding.
  • If you are over 65 years old, you may have a higher risk of side effects like certain infections, stomach bleeding, or fluid in the lungs.

  • Tell your doctor right away if you notice any unexpected bruising or bleeding.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a history of stomach problems, like stomach ulcers.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a rare inherited enzyme problem, such as Lesch-Nyhan or Kelley-Seegmiller syndrome.
  • This medicine makes you more sensitive to the sun and increases your risk of skin cancer. Protect yourself by wearing protective clothing and using high-SPF sunscreen.
