How to Use

Dosage

The recommended dose is 1440 mg daily, divided into two 720 mg doses. Take 4 tablets of 180 mg or 2 tablets of 360 mg in the morning and evening.

Method

Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. Do not split, crush, or take broken tablets.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 1440 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Low white blood cell count (leukopenia)
  • Low red blood cell count, which can cause tiredness, shortness of breath, and pale skin (anemia)
  • Low platelet count, which can cause unexpected bleeding and bruising (thrombocytopenia)
  • Low blood calcium (hypocalcemia)
  • Low blood magnesium (hypomagnesemia)
  • High blood potassium (hyperkalemia)
  • High blood uric acid (hyperuricemia)
  • High blood pressure (hypertension)
  • Low blood pressure (hypotension)
  • Dizziness
  • Headache
  • Anxiety
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath (dyspnoea)
  • Stomach pain, inflammation of the stomach lining, bloated stomach, constipation, indigestion, flatulence (gas), loose stools, nausea, vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Tiredness, fever
  • Abnormal liver or kidney function test results
  • Respiratory tract infections
  • Acne
  • Weakness (asthenia)
  • Muscle pain (myalgia)
  • Joint pain (arthralgia)
  • Swollen hands, ankles or feet (peripheral edema/swelling)
  • Itching
RARE
  • Fast heart rate (tachycardia) or irregular heartbeats (ventricular extrasystoles), fluid in the lungs (pulmonary edema)
  • A cyst-like growth on the skin filled with fluid (lymphocele)
  • Tremors, sleep problems
  • Red and swollen eyes (conjunctivitis), blurred vision
  • Wheezing
  • Burping, bad breath, bowel obstruction (ileus), mouth sores, heartburn, tongue discoloration, dry mouth, gum inflammation, pancreatitis (severe upper abdominal pain), salivary gland blockage, peritonitis
  • Inflammation in bones, blood, and skin
  • Blood in urine, kidney damage, burning sensation during urination, difficulty urinating
  • Hair loss, bruising on skin
  • Joint inflammation (arthritis), back pain, muscle cramps
  • Loss of appetite, high blood fats (hyperlipidemia), high blood sugar (diabetes), high cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia), or low blood phosphate (hypophosphatemia)
  • Flu-like symptoms (e.g., tiredness, chills, sore throat, joint or muscle pain), swollen ankles and feet, pain, stiffness, thirst, weakness
  • Unusual dreams, delusions
  • Inability to get or maintain an erection (impotence)
  • Cough, difficulty breathing, painful breathing (possible symptoms of interstitial lung disease)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Myastad if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, as it can cause serious birth defects and miscarriage.
  • If you are a woman who can become pregnant, you must have a negative pregnancy test before starting treatment and consistently use effective contraception as advised by your doctor.
  • Do not use Myastad if you are allergic to mycophenolic acid, mycophenolate sodium, mycophenolate mofetil, or any other ingredients in the medicine.
  • Myastad increases the risk of skin cancer. Limit sun and UV light exposure, use high-factor sunscreen, and wear protective clothing.
  • Myastad weakens your body's immune system, increasing the risk of infections (e.g., in the brain, skin, mouth, stomach, intestines, lungs, and urinary tract) and certain cancers (e.g., skin or lymph gland cancer).

  • Inform your doctor immediately if you experience signs of infection (fever, chills, sweating, tiredness) or unusual bleeding/bruising, or new/changing skin growths.
  • Do not donate blood during treatment or for 6 weeks after stopping Myastad. Men should not donate semen during treatment or for 90 days after.
