Possible Side Effects

  • Dehydration (e.g., dizziness, muscle cramps, thirst)
  • Blood abnormalities (e.g., abnormal salt concentration in blood)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to multiBic 3 mmol/l potassium or any of its ingredients.
  • Do not use if you have very low potassium levels (hypokalemia).
  • Do not use if you have too much bicarbonate in your blood (metabolic alkalosis).
  • Do not use if there is difficulty getting enough blood to flow through the hemofilter (blood filter).
  • Do not use if you have a high risk of bleeding, especially if blood-thinning medicines are used to prevent clotting in the hemofilter.

  • This medicine must only be used after the two solutions in the double-chamber bag have been mixed.
  • Do not use if the solution's temperature is below room temperature.
  • The tubing used to give the prepared solution must be checked every 30 minutes. If you see any solid particles in the tubing, the bag and tubing must be changed immediately, and the patient carefully monitored.
  • Your doctor will regularly check your body's fluid balance, potassium, sodium, and other salt levels, waste product levels, and blood sugar.
  • The use of multiBic 3 mmol/l potassium in children has not been confirmed.
  • Tell your doctor about all other medicines you are taking, have recently taken, or might take.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or think you might be, talk to your doctor before using this medicine. Breastfeeding is not recommended during this treatment.
