  • Swelling in ankles and feet (due to fluid imbalance)
  • Dehydration, such as dizziness, muscle cramps, or feeling thirsty
  • Blood abnormalities, such as unusual salt levels in the blood

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to any ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have very low potassium levels in your blood.
  • Do not use if you have too much bicarbonate in your blood (metabolic alkalosis).
  • Do not use if there is not enough blood flow through the blood filter.
  • Do not use if you have a high risk of bleeding, especially if you are given blood thinners.

  • This medicine must be mixed by healthcare staff just before use.
  • The solution must not be used if it is colder than room temperature.
  • The medical tubing for the solution must be checked every 30 minutes. If there are solid bits, the bag and tubing must be changed immediately.
  • Your doctor will regularly check your body's water balance, potassium, sodium, other salts, waste products, and blood sugar levels.
