How to Use

Dosage

One bottle (400 mg) once a day for adults.

Method

Moxifloxacin Orion is given as an intravenous infusion over 60 minutes.

Important

Do not exceed one bottle (400 mg) per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Nausea
  • Diarrhea
  • Dizziness
  • Stomach or abdominal pain
  • Vomiting
  • Headache
  • Increased liver enzymes in the blood
  • Infections caused by resistant bacteria or fungi, such as oral or vaginal thrush
  • Pain or inflammation at the injection site
  • Changes in heart rhythm shown on ECG, especially with low blood potassium
  • Rash
  • Indigestion or heartburn
  • Taste changes
  • Sleep problems, mainly insomnia
  • Decreased number of certain white blood cells
  • Constipation
  • Itching
  • Feeling of vertigo or risk of falling
  • Drowsiness
  • Gas in the stomach
  • Impaired liver function (including increased LDH enzyme in blood)
  • Loss of appetite and reduced food intake
  • Pain in the back, chest, pelvis, or limbs
  • Increased number of blood cells important for clotting

  • Muscle cramps
  • Hallucinations
  • High blood pressure
  • Swelling (hands, feet, ankles, lips, mouth, throat)
  • Low blood pressure
  • Reduced kidney function (including increased urea and creatinine in blood tests)
  • Liver inflammation
  • Mouth inflammation
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
  • Numbness of the skin
  • Abnormal dreams
  • Poor concentration
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Changes in sense of smell (including loss of smell)
  • Balance or coordination problems (due to dizziness)
  • Partial or complete memory loss
  • Hearing loss (including deafness, usually temporary)
  • Increased uric acid in the blood
  • Mood changes
  • Speech difficulties
  • Fainting
  • Muscle weakness
  • Joint inflammation
  • Abnormal heart rhythm
  • Increased skin sensitivity to touch
  • Feeling detached from oneself
  • Increased blood clotting
  • Muscle stiffness
  • Significant decrease in certain white blood cells
  • Decrease in red and white blood cells and platelets
  • Muscle twitching

Important Warnings

  • If you feel sudden severe pain in your stomach, chest, or back, go to the emergency room right away. These could be signs of serious problems with your main artery.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience sudden shortness of breath (especially when lying down), swelling in your ankles, feet, or stomach, or new heart palpitations.
  • If you have a sudden, severe allergic reaction (like chest tightness, dizziness, nausea, or fainting), stop the infusion immediately and seek medical help.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you feel very unwell, vomit, have yellow eyes or skin, dark urine, itchy skin, or bleed easily. These could be signs of serious liver problems.
  • Stop taking this medicine and contact your doctor immediately if you develop a severe skin rash with redness, blisters, or peeling skin, especially with fever or flu-like symptoms.

  • If you feel nerve damage symptoms like pain, burning, tingling, numbness, or weakness in your arms or legs, stop treatment and tell your doctor right away.
  • If you experience mental health problems, such as depression or thoughts of harming yourself, stop taking this medicine and contact your doctor immediately.
  • If you get severe or long-lasting diarrhea, or if you see blood or mucus in your stool, stop treatment and talk to your doctor right away. Do not take anti-diarrhea medicines.
  • If you have joint pain, swelling, or tendon pain (like in your ankle, wrist, elbow, shoulder, or knee), stop taking this medicine and contact your doctor. Rest the painful area.
