How to Use

Dosage

Take one 25 ml sachet 1 to 3 times a day.

Method

Drink directly from the sachet; you don't need to mix it with water.

Important

Do not take more than 3 sachets a day for regular constipation.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Severe allergic reaction causing difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.
  • Allergic reactions, such as rash, itching, red skin or hives, and swelling of the hands, feet, or ankles.
  • Headache.
  • Abnormally low or high potassium levels in the blood.
COMMON
  • Indigestion.
  • Abdominal pain.
  • Stomach rumbling.
  • Abdominal bloating.
  • Flatulence (gas).
  • Nausea.
  • Vomiting.
  • Pain around the anus.
  • Mild diarrhea.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you have a blockage in your bowel.
  • Do not use if there is a hole in your bowel wall.
  • Do not use if you have a severe bowel disease like ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, or a very swollen colon (toxic megacolon).
  • Do not use if you are allergic to this medicine or any of its ingredients.
  • Remember to drink enough fluids while using this medicine, as the medicine itself doesn't replace your daily fluid intake.

  • Some medicines, like those for epilepsy, might not work as well when taken with this medicine.
  • Do not take other oral medicines one hour before, together with, or one hour after taking Movicol Ready to Take.
  • If you use thickened liquids for swallowing, Movicol Ready to Take might make the thickener less effective.
  • Movicol Ready to Take contains sodium (salt); talk to your doctor if you are on a low-salt diet or use more than 3 sachets daily for a long time.
  • If you have heart problems and are treating fecal impaction, do not take more than two sachets per hour.
