How to Use

Dosage

The recommended dose for children aged 2-5 years is one Montelukast ratiopharm 4 mg chewable tablet once daily in the evening.

Method

This medicine is taken by mouth. The tablet should be chewed before swallowing. Do not take the medicine immediately with a meal; take it at least one hour before or two hours after a meal.

Important

Give your child only one Montelukast ratiopharm chewable tablet once a day, as instructed by the doctor.

RARE
  • Allergic reactions (e.g., swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, which can cause difficulty breathing or swallowing)
  • Behavioral and mood changes (e.g., anxiety, depression, unusual dreams, insomnia, aggressive behavior, suicidal thoughts)
  • Seizures
  • Increased bleeding tendency
  • Tremor
  • Palpitations
  • Dizziness, drowsiness
  • Tingling or numbness
  • Nosebleeds
  • Liver inflammation
  • Severe skin reactions

Important Warnings

  • If your child's asthma gets worse or breathing becomes difficult, tell the doctor right away.
  • This medicine is not for sudden asthma attacks. Always use your child's rescue inhaler as directed.
  • Your child should continue to take all other asthma medicines unless the doctor tells you otherwise.
  • Contact a doctor if your child experiences flu-like symptoms, tingling or numbness in limbs, worsening lung symptoms, or a rash.
  • Do not give your child aspirin or other anti-inflammatory pain relievers if they make their asthma worse.

  • If your child has phenylketonuria, this medicine contains aspartame (a source of phenylalanine), which can be harmful.
  • If your child develops changes in behavior or mood (such as anxiety, depression, or suicidal thoughts), contact a doctor immediately.
