How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 15 or 30 mg per day. Your doctor may increase it to 15-45 mg per day.

Method

Take Mirtazapin ratiopharm once a day, preferably at the same time each day, just before bedtime. Swallow the tablets whole with a little water or juice, without chewing.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 45 mg.

  • Increased appetite and weight gain
  • Drowsiness or feeling sleepy
  • Headache
  • Dry mouth
  • Feeling sluggish or drowsy
  • Dizziness
  • Shaking or tremors
  • Nausea
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Constipation
  • Skin rash or other skin reactions
  • Joint pain or muscle pain
  • Back pain
  • Dizziness or feeling faint when standing up quickly
  • Swelling (especially in ankles and feet) due to fluid retention
  • Tiredness
  • Vivid dreams
  • Confusion
  • Anxiety
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Memory problems (usually go away after stopping the medicine)
RARE
  • Unusual skin sensations like burning, tingling, or prickling
  • Restless legs
  • Fainting
  • Numbness in the mouth
  • Low blood pressure
  • Nightmares
  • Agitation
  • Hallucinations
  • Strong urge to move around
  • Feeling excessively high or manic
  • Muscle twitching or spasms
  • Aggression
  • Yellowing of eyes or skin (jaundice)
  • Stomach pain and nausea (may be a sign of pancreas inflammation)
  • Abnormal sensation in the mouth
  • Swelling in the mouth
  • General swelling of the body
  • Local swelling
  • Low sodium levels in the blood, possibly causing headache, tiredness, seizures, or coma
  • Problems with a hormone that controls body water
  • Severe skin reactions (like red spots or blisters)
  • Sleepwalking
  • Speech problems
  • Increased levels of an enzyme in the blood (creatine kinase)
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Muscle pain, stiffness, and weakness with dark urine (rhabdomyolysis)
  • High prolactin levels in the blood, possibly causing breast enlargement or milk discharge
  • Long-lasting, painful erection

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to mirtazapine or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you are taking or have recently taken (within the last two weeks) medicines called MAO inhibitors.
  • Stop taking this medicine and contact your doctor immediately if you develop a severe skin rash, peeling skin, blisters, or mouth sores.
  • If you have thoughts of harming yourself or committing suicide, contact your doctor immediately or go to a hospital.
  • This medicine may affect your concentration. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you.

  • Do not drink alcohol while taking Mirtazapin ratiopharm, as it can make you feel drowsy.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you develop symptoms of infection like sudden high fever, sore throat, or mouth sores, as this might be a sign of blood cell problems.
