How to Use

Dosage

The recommended starting dose is 15-30 mg per day. Your doctor may increase your dose to 15-45 mg per day for better effect.

Method

Take the tablets by mouth at the same time each day, preferably as a single dose before bedtime. You can take them with water or juice.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 45 mg, as advised by your doctor.

  • Increased appetite and weight gain
  • Drowsiness or sleepiness
  • Headache
  • Dry mouth
  • Lethargy (sluggishness)
  • Dizziness
  • Tremor
  • Nausea
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Constipation
  • Skin rash or eruptions
  • Joint pain or muscle pain
  • Back pain
  • Dizziness or fainting when standing up quickly (low blood pressure)
  • Swelling (usually of ankles or feet) due to fluid retention
  • Fatigue
  • Vivid dreams
  • Confusion
  • Anxiety
  • Sleep problems
  • Memory problems (usually resolve after stopping medication)
RARE
  • Abnormal skin sensations (e.g., burning, tingling, prickling)
  • Restless legs
  • Fainting
  • Numbness in the mouth
  • Low blood pressure
  • Nightmares
  • Anxiety with a strong urge to move
  • Hallucinations
  • Compulsive urge to move
  • Yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice), which may indicate liver problems
  • Muscle twitching or spasms
  • Aggression
  • Abdominal pain and nausea (may be a sign of pancreatitis)
  • Abnormal sensations in the mouth
  • Swelling of the mouth
  • Swelling of the whole body
  • Local swelling
  • Low sodium in the blood
  • Inappropriate secretion of antidiuretic hormone (SIADH)
  • Sleepwalking
  • Speech disorder
  • Increased creatine kinase levels in blood
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Muscle pain, stiffness, and/or weakness with dark urine (rhabdomyolysis)
  • High levels of prolactin in the blood (hyperprolactinemia), including breast enlargement and/or milk discharge from the breasts
  • Painful prolonged erection

Important Warnings

  • If you get a severe skin rash, peeling skin, blisters, or sores in your mouth, stop taking Mirtazapin Krka and contact your doctor immediately.
  • If you have thoughts of harming yourself or suicide, contact your doctor or go to a hospital right away.
  • If you feel overly excited or become very high-spirited (mania), stop taking Mirtazapin Krka and contact your doctor immediately.
  • If you get a high fever, sore throat, or mouth sores for no reason, stop taking Mirtazapin Krka and see your doctor right away for a blood test.
  • If you experience symptoms like unexplained fever, sweating, fast heart rate, diarrhea, muscle twitching, or confusion, you might have serotonin syndrome. Contact your doctor immediately.
