How to Use

Dosage

Take one tablet every day.

Method

Take one tablet at the same time each day with a small amount of liquid. After taking 21 tablets, take a 7-day break before starting a new pack. Your period-like bleeding will usually start 2-4 days after your last tablet.

Important

The maximum daily dose is one tablet.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache, including migraine
  • Spotting or unexpected bleeding between periods
  • Vaginal infection
  • Mood changes, including depression
  • Changes in sex drive
  • Nervousness
  • Dizziness
  • Feeling sick (nausea) or being sick (vomiting)
  • Stomach pain
  • Acne
  • Breast pain, tenderness, enlargement, or discharge
  • Painful periods, changes in menstrual flow, changes in vaginal discharge, or missed periods
  • Fluid retention (swelling)
  • Weight changes (increase or decrease)
RARE
  • Changes in appetite (increase or decrease)
  • Stomach cramps, bloating
  • Skin rash
  • Skin pigmentation changes (brown spots that may remain), excessive hair growth, or hair loss
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Changes in blood fat levels, including increased triglycerides
  • Inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis)
  • Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis)
  • Liver cancer, including benign liver tumors, or abnormal liver function (e.g., gallstones, itching, cholestatic jaundice)
  • Harmful blood clots in a vein or artery (e.g., deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, heart attack, stroke, mini-stroke, clots in liver, stomach/intestines, kidneys, or eyes)
  • Rare skin conditions (erythema nodosum and erythema multiforme), worsening of lupus (SLE), decreased folate levels in blood, allergic reactions (hives, swelling, breathing difficulties, life-threatening allergic reactions), increased blood sugar, colon inflammation, hemolytic-uremic syndrome
  • Eye-related side effects such as optic nerve inflammation and difficulties with contact lenses
  • Worsening of varicose veins

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Minulet if you are pregnant or suspect you are pregnant.
  • Do not use if you have (or have had) a blood clot in your legs (deep vein thrombosis), lungs (pulmonary embolism), or any other organ.
  • Do not use if you have a known blood clotting disorder.
  • Do not use if you need surgery or will be lying down for a long time.
  • Do not use if you have (or have had) a heart attack or stroke, severe chest pain (angina pectoris), or mini-stroke (TIA).

  • Do not use if you have severe diabetes with blood vessel damage, very high blood pressure, very high blood fat levels (cholesterol or triglycerides), or high homocysteine levels in your blood.
  • Do not use if you have (or have had) migraine with aura.
  • Do not use if you have Hepatitis C and are taking certain medications (containing ombitasvir/paritaprevir/ritonavir, dasabuvir, glecaprevir/pibrentasvir or sofosbuvir/velpatasvir/voxilaprevir).
  • Do not use if you have (or have had) breast or reproductive organ cancer (uterus, cervix or vagina), unexplained vaginal bleeding, a liver tumor (benign or cancerous), active liver disease, heart valve disease, or heart rhythm changes.
  • Do not use if you have had pancreatitis linked to high blood fat levels.
  • Do not use if you have experienced yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice) during pregnancy or with previous use of birth control pills.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to the active ingredients or any other component of this medicine.
