Minirin works like a natural hormone to help your kidneys concentrate urine, treating conditions like central diabetes insipidus, bedwetting, and frequent nighttime urination.
For diabetes insipidus, adults and children take 1-2 tablets (60 mcg) under the tongue three times a day. For children's bedwetting, take 1-2 tablets (120 mcg) under the tongue at night. For adults with frequent nighttime urination, start with 60 mcg under the tongue at night and can increase up to 240 mcg weekly if needed.
Place the freeze-dried, melt-in-the-mouth tablet under your tongue.
The maximum dose depends on the condition being treated, but do not exceed 240 micrograms per day.
Avoid use in older adults. Risk of fluid retention and hyponatraemia. Treatment of ADH deficiency can be started under specialist supervision. (updated 6.11.2023)
