Minims Oxybuprocaine Hydrochloride contains an anesthetic and is used for temporary numbing of the eye surface during various eye examinations and procedures.
The dose varies depending on the procedure: one drop for measuring eye pressure, two drops 1.5 minutes apart for fitting contact lenses, and three drops 1.5 minutes apart for minor procedures.
The doctor or ophthalmologist will usually put the drops in your eye. You may be asked to gently press the inner corner of your eye with your finger for 3 minutes to prevent the solution from draining into your nose and throat.
The doctor will determine the dose based on the procedure, and an overdose is very unlikely as the numbing effect lasts about an hour.
