How to Use

Dosage

Take one tablet once a day.

Method

Take the tablet at the same time every day, without breaks between packs, even during your period.

Important

Maximum one tablet per day; do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Depression, headache, irregular uterine bleeding, breast tenderness.
  • Nervousness, changes in sex drive, itching, tiredness, fluid retention.
RARE
  • Benign liver tumor.
  • Severe allergic reactions (e.g., breathing difficulties, swelling of face/throat).
  • Blood clots (in legs, lungs, brain), stroke, heart attack, heart failure.
  • Vision problems, such as blurred vision or loss of sight.
  • Nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, stomach bloating, dry mouth.
  • Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), liver problems.
  • Changes in cervical secretions, spotting, missed periods, breast milk discharge, breast pain.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Mini-Pill tablets if you are pregnant or suspect you might be pregnant.
  • Do not use if you have or have had a blood clot (e.g., in the leg or lung), or a heart attack.
  • Do not use if you have or are suspected of having breast cancer or other hormone-dependent cancers.
  • Do not use if you have liver disease, a liver tumor, or impaired liver function.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience symptoms of a blood clot, such as leg swelling or sudden chest pain.

  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience mood changes or symptoms of depression.
  • If you vomit or have severe diarrhea, contraceptive protection may be reduced; use an additional contraceptive method (like a condom) for 7 days.
  • Mini-Pill does not protect against HIV or other sexually transmitted infections.
  • If you have diagnosed lactose intolerance, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.
