How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 2.5 mg (one 2.5 mg tablet) taken 2 to 3 times a day; your doctor may increase the dose weekly until the best effect is reached.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water; the tablet can be divided into equal doses, and you should take it during the day, while sitting or standing, every 3-4 hours.

Important

Most people do not need more than 30 mg per day; take your last dose at least four hours before going to bed.

  • Stroke
  • Liver problems, including increased liver enzyme levels
  • Anxiety

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to midodrine or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have high blood pressure while lying down, as your blood pressure needs to be checked regularly, and the treatment might need to be stopped if it remains high when lying down.
  • Do not use if you have high blood pressure or low blood pressure that causes fainting (vasovagal hypotension).
  • Do not use if you have severe heart disease or heart failure.
  • Do not use if you have an overactive thyroid or high levels of thyroid hormones in your blood.

  • Do not use if you have an untreated tumor of the adrenal gland (pheochromocytoma).
  • Do not use if you have severe kidney problems.
  • Do not use if you have an enlarged prostate (for men only).
  • Do not use if you have weakened eyesight due to diabetes.
  • Do not use if you have difficulty urinating.
  • Do not use if you have increased eye pressure (glaucoma).
  • Do not use if you have narrowed blood vessels that reduce blood flow to the heart.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a severe nervous system disorder, as this medicine might make your blood pressure drop even more when standing up, and treatment might need to be stopped.
  • Tell your doctor if you have circulation problems, especially if you have symptoms like stomach pain after eating or leg cramps when walking.
  • Report any symptoms of high blood pressure immediately, such as increased heart rate, headache, or blurred vision.
  • This medicine is not for children or adolescents under 18 years old.
