How to Use

Dosage

You usually start with one 1 mg tablet three times a day for two weeks. Your doctor may then slowly increase your dose.

Method

Take tablets every 6–8 hours, with or without food. If you have trouble swallowing, you can crush the tablet and mix it with water or soft food.

Important

The maximum daily dose is usually 7.5 mg, taken in three doses.

  • Headache

  • Coughing up blood
  • Stomach inflammation (gastritis)

  • Palpitations (fast or strong heartbeat)
  • Low blood pressure
  • Nosebleed
  • Stuffy nose
  • Stomach or abdominal pain
  • Heartburn
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Constipation
  • Bloating (gas)
RARE
  • Sudden, severe bleeding in the lungs (can be life-threatening)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Midive if you are allergic to it or any of its ingredients.
  • Do not take Midive with certain other medicines for high blood pressure in the lungs, chest pain, or erectile dysfunction (like sildenafil, tadalafil, nitrates).
  • Do not use Midive if you are pregnant or could become pregnant. Use good birth control.
  • Tell your doctor if you have very low blood pressure or feel dizzy and faint.
  • Inform your doctor if you have had recent severe lung bleeding, cough up blood, or take blood thinners.

  • Do not take Midive if you have severe liver problems or if your kidneys do not work well and you need dialysis.
  • Tell your doctor if you start or stop smoking, as your dose may need adjustment.
