How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you the exact dose, but usually it's 47.5–95 mg once daily for blood pressure or 95–190 mg for other conditions.

Method

Take the tablet once daily in the morning with water. You can halve larger tablets to make them easier to swallow, but do not chew or crush them.

Important

The maximum dose depends on your condition, but it can be up to 190 mg once daily.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to metoprolol, other similar medicines (beta-blockers), or any other ingredient.
  • Do not use if you have untreated or severe heart failure.
  • Do not use if you have heart failure and your blood pressure is consistently below 100 mmHg.
  • Do not use if you have a very slow pulse (under 45 beats per minute) or low blood pressure.
  • Do not use if you are in shock due to heart disease.

  • Do not use if you have severe circulatory problems in your arms or legs.
  • Tell your doctor if you are receiving verapamil intravenously (another heart medicine).
  • Tell your doctor if you have asthma or another severe lung disease.
  • Tell your doctor if you have diabetes, as this medicine can hide symptoms of low blood sugar.
  • Tell your doctor if you are being treated for allergies, as Metoprolol Krka can make them worse.
  • Tell your doctor or dentist if you are going to have surgery and receive anesthesia.
  • Do not stop taking the medicine suddenly; always talk to your doctor first, as sudden stopping can be dangerous.
